He rolled us over so I was on my back and pushed his hips between my thighs. God, yes. There was no doubt in my mind at all. I wanted him. Even in high school I’d wanted him, but was too young and shy to know what to do about it. I swept back the soft golden strands of hair that fell across his forehead.
“This is too good to be true,” I whispered. And, as his lips caught mine again and his fingers kneaded the flesh of my waist, I knew this was something I couldn’t pass up. Some mysterious arcane knowledge told me so. Tonight was about soaking up every last bit of electricity amplifying between us.
He pressed himself against the most intimate part of me and I encouraged him, tugging at the soft leather of the lederhosen covering his hips.
Suddenly, I was impatient for us to be skin-to-skin. I wanted to feel the heat of his body on mine. I frantically undid the buttons of his shirt then tried the fastenings of his pants and suspenders, but couldn’t make sense of them. I was momentarily interrupted by him stripping my shirt off in one smooth move. He unhooked the blue lace-and-satin bra I wore and then his mouth was on my breast, sucking in that oh-so-good way while his teeth teased my hardened nipple.
“Oh!” I tugged at the front of his pants, not able to see what I was doing with his head bowed over my chest. “Lars, I want you.” The words came out low and urgent.
He pinned my hands above my head, then lowered himself to cover my body once again. “Are you sure?” Though his face was filled with passion, concern held him still as he regarded me.
I was flattered by his concerned. But everything was so right between us, the only regret I would have was if we didn’t have sex right now. I was old enough to be comfortable with my sexuality, with having sex purely for pleasure. The antiquated rules of conduct society tried to place on women had no hold on me. There would be no guilt later. I wanted this, I wanted him and the pleasure we would create together.
“Absolutely.”
He took a second to absorb my answer, obviously weighing the pros and cons in his mind. Then he gave me a quick peck on the lips and pulled away to undo his pants.
While he stripped out of his garments, and I the remainder of mine, our eyes stayed locked on each other, passion building as more skin was exposed.
He kneeled on the edge of the bed and ripped open a small square packet. God, he was beautiful. His wide shoulders tapered to a waist thick with muscle, and there between his legs throbbed an erection so large and enticing I reached out to stroke it, marveling at the soft skin. He paused to enjoy the feel of my hands. And the sight of him kneeling on the bed, his blue eyes piercing into me, called to mind images of sword-wielding warriors for some reason, which was completely sexy.
He rolled the condom over his length, but rather than wait for him to settle on top of me, I took over, pushing him down onto his back and straddling him. He clutched the hair at the nape of my neck as he kissed me. And I took his full, thick, wonderful length into me all the way to the hilt in one smooth, slow motion. I was so wet and turned on that there was zero resistance, and we came together as though designed to be one.
We groaned into each other’s mouths at the feel of it. My hips rocked of their own accord in a motion that was primal and instinctual. Lust practically seeped from my pores. I gave the reins of my control over to my subconscious and allowed it to drive us both toward climax. It was a delicious winding road, and as the molten surge of pleasure built to a crest in my belly, Lars seemed to sense it somehow because he switched our positions in an instant and drove into me with deep, steady strokes that made me cry out. I’d never been so in sync with anyone before. I knew this was special.
“So beautiful...you’re so beautiful. Oh, god, Arianna!”
We climaxed at the same moment, our hands in frenzied motion on each other’s bodies, eyes locked on each other’s faces as ecstasy flared from the power of our unity.
Chapter Five
We lay in each other’s arms breathing heavily until dinging of both our phones penetrated the quiet cocoon of our bliss.
“We’d better go back,” I said. “They must be wondering what happened to us.” I wished with all my soul that I had the ability to freeze time. But I settled for trying to burn into memory all that had just happened between us and the tender way he looked at me now.
“Okay.” He trailed a finger down my cheek and skimmed it over the rise of my breasts. “I’ll send them a message and let them know we’re on our way.”
We rose, used the bathroom in turns, and dressed, neither of us in a hurry, then walked back hand-in-hand to our friends. We were quiet on the way back, but I think both of us were comfortable allowing each other the space to savor what we’d experienced.
Back in the tent, the chaos and excitement of people celebrating hit like a crashing wave of reality, bringing me down to earth. When we reached the table, I could tell Dana was ready to leave. She wobbled on her feet and yawned. “I’m tired. Did you have fun?” Her voice was slurred, and she blinked at me, trying to focus on my face.
I nodded, certain she would grill me later for more details when she was sober. “We can go back to the room now if you want.” It wasn’t what I wanted to do, but it was what my friend needed.
“Yeah, I think that’s a good idea.”
“You’re leaving already?” Lars said. “But it’s still early.”
I cast a rueful glance toward Dana, who was hugging one of Lars’s friends goodbye. “She’s had enough to drink, and we have an early train to catch.”
He pulled me into his arms for a hug and one last long, deep kiss. I felt the pressure of his fingers on my back as he clutched me to him. And then I felt the odd sensation of him pushing something into the back pocket of my jeans with his fingers. But I didn’t get a chance to ask him what it was. And, from the expression on his face, I figured that I should check it out later.
I made it just to the outside of the fairgrounds without looking. Dana chattered to me drunkenly, and most of her attention was centered on walking straight, so I figured it was as good a time as any to see what he’d slid into my pocket.
It turned out to be a note, written on a piece of hotel stationary. He must have jotted it down while I was in the bathroom.
Arianna,
Now I am determined to get the job in Los Angeles. Until I do, let’s stay in touch. I’m not letting you go again.
Yours, Lars.
At the bottom, all of his contact details were written out—phone number, email, and Skype. A huge smile broke across my face and the high I had felt earlier in his arms returned to fill me with a warm glow. I had no doubt now that fate had brought us together tonight. And I was certain we would have the chance to grow even more what had been planted so long ago.
